Field engineer Dan Gurganus and training and performance analyst Shannon Hendel represented VSD as they volunteered at the United Way of South Hampton Roads 2011 Day of Caring on Sept. 9. They joined a group of about 20 people at Independence Middle School to help weed the flower beds and plant new flowers. “It was nice to be able to help out our local community school and get them one step closer to having beautiful landscaping,” said Hendel.
