Harry Kantrovich, Ed.D., VSD’s D.C. operations manager, presented as the guest speaker Sept. 16 at the pinning ceremony for the new chief petty officers at Naval Support Activity in Millington, Tenn. Kantrovich was the navy personnel command force master chief from 2000 to 2002, and the current force master chief and the senior chief who chaired the ceremony are both his protégés. Kantrovich told the new chief petty officers, “By becoming a chief, you are doing far more than pinning on the anchors and donning a new cover. You are accepting new responsibilities and privileges that only the Navy allows. Today, we celebrate the dawn of your new naval life and the accomplishment of a recognition you so richly deserve.”
