Bourbon & Blackjack charity benefit: A VSD event being held during I/ITSEC 2011

VSD will again attend I/ITSEC in Orlando, Fla., at the Orange County Convention Center Nov. 28-Dec. 1. We will be exhibiting at booth #1921.

This year’s Bourbon & Blackjack event will be held Wednesday, Nov. 30 at the Hilton Orlando’s The Bistro. “Guests will walk down the red carpet as they play blackjack, enjoy food and cocktails, and mingle with colleagues throughout the evening,” says Lisa Moore, VSD’s corporate event planning manager. VSD is hosting the event, and has chosen Homes for Our Troops as the beneficiary of the evening. All proceeds from Bourbon & Blackjack will benefit this organization.

“Homes for Our Troops appreciates the fundraising efforts of VSD, LLC and the Bourbon & Blackjack event. Because of the support from patriotic companies across the nation, we are able to restore freedom and independence to our severely injured veterans through the gift of a specially adapted home,” says John Gonsalves, president and founder of Homes for Our Troops.

Homes for Our Troops is a national nonprofit, nonpartisan 501(c)(3) organization founded in 2004, committed to helping those who have selflessly given to our country and have returned home with serious disabilities and injuries since September 11, 2001. They assist severely injured servicemen and servicewomen and their immediate families by raising donations of money, building materials, and professional labor and coordinating the process of building homes that provide maximum freedom of movement and the ability to live more independently. The homes are provided at no cost to the veterans served. Homes for Our Troops has been named a Top Rated Charity by the American Institute of Philanthropy and has been given a 4‐Star rating by Charity Navigator.

Homes for Our Troops has helped more than 100 veterans across the country to date.
